Accessibility Color Changes

Hi DoggieDashboard Family,

You might have noticed that some of the colors inside DoggieDashboard are changing, especially links and buttons. Some light green buttons are turning dark green, some blue links are turning black, etc.

This is because the old DoggieDashboard design, launched in 2014, did not use adequately contrasting color schemes. As we redesign the entirety of DoggieDashboard, it's my priority to make DoggieDashboard as accessible as possible. Each and every page is getting scanned (we're talking nearly a thousand pages!) by WebAim's WAVE scanner to make sure it's accessible.

The new color combinations have high contrast, so that users, including users with visual disabilities, are able to perceive content on the page. People with poor vision were unable to see some of the buttons in the 2014 version of DoggieDashboard. With the new redesign, everyone will be able to use DoggieDashboard to its full potential.

There will be some hiccups as we go and sometimes pages might look funny, but that's just par for the course when you're updating a large software platform. Thank you for your patience as we redesign the software. It's getting faster and easier to use, and that's better for everyone.
