Due to user feedback, the "Additional Information" field on the appointment request form has been made 'non-required' by default.

This is because many of your clients might have nothing "extra" to say. They just need the usual daycare for Fido that they get every week and being forced to write something in the "Additional Information" field in order to submit the form is a hassle.
